Latest trip to the KidsCare!

So here is the latest excitement from our house. On Tuesday night Kit had this awful rash show up out of nowhere. I went to change her diaper before bed and was SHOCKED to see what was on the trunk of her body.  It was all over and red as can be.  She hadn't eaten anything unusual and she had no signs of any sickness. But to be on the safe side I took her to the kidscare anyway.  After an hour and a half of waiting the Dr. just told me to give her a little benadryl and keep my eye on it.  I was quite relieved because the nurse that
came in before hand told me it looked an awful lot like MEASLES!! What?! I just had her vaccinated for that.  The Dr. said Measles spreads from toes to torso and you can't feel it on the skin.  PHEW! This was only on her chest and back and was definitely raised.
I guess it really is just peace of mind to know she was going to be alright. The next day it was a lot fainter and was totally gone by Saturday.  I still have no idea what caused it, but it didn't seem to bother her and has not shown it's ugly face again.

  1. Oh Loni - you just described the last 3 years of my life! Kylie has this uber-sensitive skin and she always has something like that popping up. After the 27th time of taking her to the doctor and them telling me to put cream on it, Kylie's doc told me that unless the rash is accompanied by a fever, or diahrrea, or something god-awful like that, it's probably nothing. Gotta love that stuff!!

  4. Ryan had a similar rash a few months ago (pics and story are on my blog). I went to the Instacare (twice - two different docs) because his doc was out of town. When he got back to the office, we went to him. They all told me that it was a virus. Weird! I hope she's doing better!

  5. I hate random rashes. Lucy will get them too sometimes and i freak out and I took her in the first time it happened and my Dr. said that if you pull the skin so it is tight and the rash still appears then it is serious. Anyway that probably makes no sense but it has saved me many panic attacks.
